Get the desktop app.

Choose a local folder and LedgeSync syncs it with a Google Drive folder of the same name, in My Drive or a folder you pick. Excluded files stay on your computer.

Install: Open the downloaded disk image, drag LedgeSync.app to Applications, then open LedgeSync. Choose Apple Silicon for a Mac with an Apple M-series chip; choose Intel for an Intel Mac.

Open the downloaded setup.exe and follow the installation wizard. Remove LedgeSync through Settings → Apps → Installed apps. Requires Microsoft Edge WebView2 Runtime. Installers are unsigned.

Ubuntu 24.04

Install with APT

Add the LedgeSync repository once, then install ledgesync with APT. Packages are available for AMD/Intel x64 and ARM64. APT installs the desktop dependencies.

UBUNTU DESKTOP & SERVER

Install through your package manager.

Use these commands on Ubuntu 24.04. The repository supports x64 (amd64) and ARM64; APT selects the package for your system.

1. Add the repository First installation only

Download the repository key and source definition, then install them for APT. The key applies only to the LedgeSync repository.

Review the repository definition or download the public signing key.

2. Install the desktop app

Open LedgeSync from your applications menu. This installs the graphical interface. Google Drive authorization needs an unlocked desktop credential store such as GNOME Keyring.

Ubuntu Server or terminal only

Use the same repository setup above, then install ledgesync-cli. It provides auth connect, sync (including sync watch for servers) and copy commands through the same engine. Online use requires an unlocked native credential store; SSH consent uses a local loopback tunnel. CLI guide.

DEVELOPER ALPHA

Open Connections → Connect Google Drive, authorize in your browser, then choose Sync a folder. LedgeSync keeps the folder and its Google Drive folder the same while the app is open, including files you add to that Drive folder from the website or your phone. Edits become new Drive revisions, deleted files go to the Drive trash or to the folder’s hidden .ledgesync-trash, and when many files disappear at once sync waits for you. Google Docs, Sheets and Slides stay in Drive. Tokens stay in Keychain, Credential Manager or Secret Service, without a plaintext fallback; LedgeSync servers do not store them. Connection guide. Windows installers have no publisher signature, and macOS apps are not notarized, so your operating system may prevent launch. Keep its security protections enabled. Build from reviewed source for development.
